How to get

Ore Refinement

The Industrial Ore Refinery produces ore from ore, with consumption being lower than output. Initially, it can only produce Copper Ore , but further production chains for Iron , Gold , Titanium , and Platinum Ore , each with three ranks, can be unlocked via quests. In total, up to three production chains can be active at the same time.

Industrial Ore Refinery production

But the Industrial Ore Refinery only produces ore while it is buffed with Industrial Ore Refinery Fuel . It can be produced in the Provision House or Rarity Provision House after a quest unlocks the production there. The Industrial Ore Refinery Fuel can only be used on your own island; it is not possible to buff your friends’ Industrial Ore Refineries . Production buffs for epic workyards cannot be applied to it.

Unlocking and Upgrading Production Chains

Production chains can be unlocked and upgraded via quests by using Metallurgy Knowledge on the Industrial Ore Refinery . To do so, a quest with this task must be active in your quest book; otherwise, the research notes you use will not count. To unlock the second rank, you must first unlock the first rank for all production chains. To unlock the third rank, you must first unlock the second rank for all production chains.

If you use Metallurgy Knowledge on the Mayor's house , you will receive a Manuscript or Tome instead.

In total, 184 pieces of knowledge I and 80 pieces of knowledge II are required to unlock all production chains and ranks.

Knowledge from Adventure Rewards

To obtain Metallurgy Knowledge, you do not need to have either the Industrial Ore Refinery or the corresponding quest ‘Exotic Metallurgy’ . Furthermore, you can always find it; it is not tied to a specific event. An active Premium buff doubles the pieces of knowledge you receive. As knowledge is tradable, you do not have to obtain them all yourself from adventure rewards.
